This week’s WGBR Pet of the Week powered by Jackson & Sons, features Santa Fe, a playful and affectionate kitten currently available for adoption at the Wayne County Animal Shelter.
Santa Fe is a nine-month-old domestic short-hair tortoiseshell kitten, often referred to as a “tortie,” meaning she has a mix of black and orange coloring with minimal white. According to shelter staff, she is already spayed, fully vetted, and ready to go home the same day she finds her new family.
“She is a very sweet little cat,” says Wayne County Animal Shelter staff. “She’s very loving and she loves to play.”
Adoption at the shelter includes a simple application process and a $65 fee. If an animal is already spayed or neutered and fully vetted — like Santa Fe — adopters can take their new pet home immediately. If not, the shelter arranges the necessary services and schedules pickup within about a week.
Those interested in meeting Santa Fe or other adoptable pets can visit the Wayne County Animal Shelter, located at 1600 Clingman Street in Goldsboro. Visitors are encouraged to spend time interacting with animals to find the best match for their household.
The shelter is also requesting donations of newspapers, which are used daily to help care for animals.
For those looking to add a loving companion to their home, Santa Fe may be the perfect fit.
