March 26, 2026, 70, Goldsboro – Jeffrey Eliot Towbin, 70, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, March 26, 2026. He was born January 17, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Melvyn and Jacqueline Jarkow Towbin.
Jeff spent his career as a skilled auto mechanic and retired from Amico Transmissions, where he took pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way. He was an honor student in high school and continued his education by earning an associate degree. Faith played a meaningful role in Jeff’s life—he served as a lay leader in the United Methodist Church and, after being raised in the Jewish faith, made the decision to convert to Christianity in the 1980s.
Above all, Jeff loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Rose Smith Towbin; his stepdaughters, Cindy Alphin (Jimmy) and Sharon Block; his beloved grandchildren, Stevie Block and Lela Block, who brought him immense joy; his sister, Melissa Towbin; and a close family friend, Chris Block.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor Andy Stovall presiding. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Animal Welfare League, P.O. Box 11437, Goldsboro, NC 27532.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home.
