March 24, 2026, 73, Goldsboro – Elwood Lee “Woody” Grant, 73, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Woody was born in Wayne County on January 18, 1953, to the late Robert Lee Grant and Carrie Mae Gray Grant.
Woody will be remembered for his quick wit and great sense of humor, always finding joy in making others laugh. He cherished the time he spent with his family, who were the center of his life and brought him his greatest happiness.
A graveside service to celebrate Woody’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, in Pikeville Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Woody is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 20 years, Beverly Howell Grant; his children, Dustin Christensen-Grant (Tad); Codee Nicole Erickson (Jordan); and Stephen David Underwood (Olivia).
