GOLDSBORO, NC — Visitors to City Hall will encounter new security measures starting today, Monday, March 23, as the City of Goldsboro rolls out updated protocols aimed at improving safety for both the public and employees.
Under the new procedures, everyone entering through the main entrance of City Hall Addition — including city employees — must undergo a security screening. The process, conducted by security personnel, requires individuals to walk through a metal detector before gaining access to the building.
Once screened, visitors will check in with the receptionist. Those needing to access offices beyond the Revenue Collections office will be issued a visitor badge, which must be worn visibly for the duration of their visit.
City officials say the main entrance at City Hall will remain the only public access point. Security screenings will be in effect during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., as well as during City Council meetings.
Employees will still have the option to use designated staff entrances with fob access, allowing them to bypass the screening process. However, any employee choosing to enter through the public entrance will be required to follow the same screening procedures as visitors.
The new measures are part of the city’s ongoing efforts to enhance safety and ensure a secure environment for all who visit or work at City Hall.
