BELMONT ABBEY, N.C. — A dominant offensive performance from Morghan Pollock led the Mount Olive Trojans women’s lacrosse to an 11-7 conference victory over Belmont Abbey Crusaders women’s lacrosse.
Pollock was the standout player of the match, tallying six goals and one assist while putting all eight of her shots on target in a highly efficient outing. Her performance fueled a balanced offensive effort, with additional goals coming from Alexa Fitzgerald, Karsyn Elliot, Maddy Fratus, Libby Berg, and Katie Broom.
Broom also made her presence felt in the midfield, leading the Trojans with four draw controls. Berg and Giavahna Gasdia each added two draw controls, while Gasdia and Simone McCraw contributed three ground balls apiece.
Defensively, goalkeeper Ruby Burandt anchored the effort with eight saves over a full 60 minutes, helping contain Belmont Abbey’s offense and secure the win.
As a team, Mount Olive totaled 26 shots, including 20 on goal, while forcing five turnovers, winning 11 draw controls, and collecting 17 ground balls in a physical, back-and-forth contest that stretched nearly two hours.
The Trojans will return home for their next matchup against the Alabama Huntsville Chargers women’s lacrosse on March 21 at 11 a.m.
