A proud patriot, Warren enlisted in the United States Army in 1976. He served his country with honor and distinction for five years, achieving the rank of Sergeant (E-5). Following his honorable discharge, he continued his service for two years in the National Guard. Warren was a lifelong learner, and he furthered his education at Wayne Community College, where he pursued a degree in Automotive Systems Technology. He later worked as a foreman at Best Distributing Company in Goldsboro, NC, from which he retired in 2014.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted daughter, Cassandra Yvonne Edwards (Edmond); his loving fiancé, NaToya Simmons of LaGrange; two sisters, Debbie Teachey and Sandra Sheppard of Goldsboro, NC; and two brothers. He was a proud grandfather to Demetrius Raiford, Tyre Vaughn, Keeiaru Lee, and Kuwaun Lee, and a doting great-grandfather to eleven great-grandchildren.
