March 10, 2026, 59, Goldsboro – Richard “Ricky” Wayne Bailey, 59, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. Born in Wake County on December 1, 1966, he was the son of James Bailey, Sr. and Ruby Jean Hall Wells.
Ricky truly cherished time spent with his family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. He had a lifelong passion for racing, particularly NASCAR, and enjoyed both watching races and attending them in person. Ricky also loved drag racing and had a special appreciation for classic cars. Many of his happiest moments were spent working on old cars, doing what he loved most.
Ricky is survived by his mother, Ruby Jean Wells; his daughter, Courtney Bailey; his longtime girlfriend, Natalie Edenfield; his brother, Jamie Bailey and wife, Debbie; his sisters, Susan Comisky and husband, Richard, and Rhonda Peake; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is also survived many other family members and friends that he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Bailey, Sr., his sister, Angie Wells; and his niece, Lisa Peake.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro.
