A sweet and energetic dog named “Tex”as is hoping to find her forever family as this week’s WGBR Pet of the Week powered by Jackson & Sons.
“Tex”as, a 2-year-old terrier and pit bull mix, is currently waiting for adoption at Wayne County Animal Services. The medium-sized female dog has a sleek black coat and plenty of love to give to the right home.
“Tex”as has been at the shelter since September 3, 2025, and staff members say she would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal and affectionate pet. Like many dogs her age, Texas enjoys attention, playtime, and the chance to explore the world around her.
Adopting a pet like “Tex”as not only gives an animal a second chance at a loving home but also helps create space at the shelter for other animals in need.
Anyone interested in meeting Texas or learning more about the adoption process is encouraged to visit Wayne County Animal Services.
For “Tex”as, the hope is simple — that the next person who walks through the door will be the one to take her home.
