GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The City of Goldsboro is inviting residents to roll up their sleeves and help protect local waterways as part of this year’s Creek Week celebration.
Two community creek cleanups are scheduled to take place at local parks in Goldsboro. The first cleanup will be held at 3 p.m. on March 17 at Quail Park, followed by a second cleanup at 4 p.m. on March 19 at Stoney Creek Park.
Community members are encouraged to volunteer and help remove litter and debris from areas surrounding the creeks.
Creek Week is an annual initiative that celebrates the streams and rivers that support and connect communities. Local leaders say maintaining clean waterways helps protect wildlife habitats, strengthen ecosystems and ensure cleaner water for residents.
City officials are encouraging residents, families, civic groups and organizations to participate in the effort to keep Goldsboro’s waterways clean and healthy.
Volunteers interested in participating in either cleanup can sign up online through the city’s website.
