February 18, 2026, 92, Goldsboro – Floyd David Howell, age 92, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Jarvis and Anna Howell. He was self-employed, owning Floyd Howell Concrete until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with friends for breakfast at several family owned or local restaurants. He attended several churches in the area over the years where he enjoyed sharing his testimony. He was a proud father and even more proud “PaPa”.
Mr. Howell is survived by his daughter, Beth Spainhour; his sister, Dorothy Ham; son-in-law, Tim Jones; daughter-in-law, Joan Howell; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Howell; his daughter, Phyllis Jones; his son, Dexter Howell; his son-in-law, Gene Spainhour; his siblings, Mattie Underwood, Lloyd Howell, Norwood Howell, JB Howell and Bobby Howell; and a granddaughter.
With respect to his wishes, his family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
