February 27, 2026, 66, Smithfield – Burr Wilson Porter, 66, of Smithfield passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Mr. Porter was born in Yuma, Arizona on December 22, 1959 to the late Beunie Monroe Porter and Audrey Mavis Burden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Buenie Monroe Porter.
Burr loved the outdoors, spending time with his family, his dog, Sparky, and was an amazing pool player. His friends called him “Bankshot Burr”. Burr was a proud USAF Veteran. He will be truly missed, but his family takes solace knowing that he is at peace with his heavenly father.
He is survived by son, Adam Porter (Jody) of Aurora, Colorado; daughter, Mary P. Heiling (Seth) of Selma; brothers, DeForest M. Burden (Amy) of Florida, Bennett Ward Porter (Susie) of Georgia, Johnny Wyne (Molly) of New Port News, Virginia; sister, Diane Porter of Georgia; and grandsons, Skyler Porter, and Seth Heiling, Jr.
