March 3, 2026, 88, Goldsboro – Dorothy Edna Branton Lynch, 88, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Born in Apex on September 15, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Clara Edna Mills Branton and Ceba Graham Branton.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jackson Lynch, and brother, Vernon Graham Branton.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Anthony Jackson Lynch and wife, Kristine Sue Lynch and Samuel Walter Lynch and wife, Kimberlee Dany Johnson; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Annette Branton Gaines.
Throughout the years, Dorothy worked at several schools teaching Spanish and Civics. She also was a private piano instructor for many years.
Dorothy loved spending time outside tending to her garden. Her sense of wonder fed her love for stargazing. Dorothy was proud to have achieved her black belt in the martial arts of Taekwondo.
Above all else, Dorothy loved her family, cherishing the time she spent with her loved ones.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Seymour Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.
