February 23, 2026, 79, Albertson – Hilda Alphin Stroud, 79, of Albertson, NC, passed away Monday afternoon, February 23, 2026, while being cared for at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Hilda had been a life-long resident of the Seven Springs and Albertson areas. Primarily a homemaker whose main goals in life were providing a safe haven for her family, a welcoming place to call home. She had worked at Jan-Mark Sewing Factory in previous years. Hilda attended the B. F. Grady School, and graduated from East Duplin High School with the class of 1964.
Hilda is survived by her husband, Wayland C. Stroud, of the home; a son, Shannon Stroud of Seven Springs; two daughters, Geishla S. Odom and husband, Brian, of Deep Run, and Courtney Stroud of Albertson; four grandchildren, Emily Odom, Joey Odom, Jacob Cannon, and Brianna Stroud; a brother, David A. Alphin, of Seven Springs; a niece and a nephew, Lynn A. Murphy, and Joe Alphin, and their families; her in-laws, Mickey and Lee Ann Stroud of Albertson, Kathy S. and Raymond Robinson, of Jason, and Jackie M. Stroud, of Albertson, and their families.
She was the daughter of the late J. Willard Alphin and Annie Belle Taylor Alphin.
Hilda will be laid to rest in the Stroud Cemetery at Albertson with private burial services.
