February 13, 2026, 90, Goldsboro – Jimmie Grayson, 90, is the prime example of beating the odds. Jimmie beat the odds when he came into this world as a Black man born in 1935 Arkansas. He beat the odds when he survived 1980s Los Angeles, California. When he pursued and completed his GED attending night school. He beat the odds by battling health issues up until his final breath. Jimmie Grayson completed 90 trips around the sun, showing us that we can defy all odds even when they’re stacked against us.
Beloved Jimmie is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Denise Dennis Grayson; his children, Pamela Grayson, Lawrence Grayson, and Tabatha Grayson; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Donald Grayson, Alaina Williams, Maetri Dorey, Lloyd Grayson, Pete Grayson,Andrew Grayson, Juanita, Ronnie, Terry, Betty, and Mel..
Jimmie was a man of few words, but of much strength and patience. From working on a farm as young boy, to being a metal polisher, then later spending his finals days serving and committed to Jehovah (along side Sacramento Jehovah brothas). Jimmie lived a full and notable life. May he rest easy and live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
