February 10, 2026, 90, Dudley – Betty Jo Hornback Edwards, 90, of Dudley, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 10th, 2026.
Betty was born on March 7th, 1935, in Anson County, North Carolina to Mattie Bowers and William Filas Hornback. Betty had a love for cooking meals for everyone, as well as taking care of her family. Betty worked as a housekeeper for Old North State Golf Club for many years before retiring to provide care for her husband and great-grandchildren. She is known for her glowing smile and personality and brought joy to all who crossed paths with her all through her life.
Betty is preceded in death by her Husband Bobby Heath Edwards, Sr, Father William Filas Hornback, Mother Mattie Bowers, and brother Bill Hornback.
Betty is survived by her sister Brenda Tarczynski of Wingate, North Carolina.
Son Bobby Heath Edwards, Jr and wife Patricia Dunn Edwards of Mount Gilead, North Carolina.
Grandchildren Latricia Jill Murchison, of High Point, North Carolina, and Bobby Heath Edwards, III, and wife Gina Edwards of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Great-Grandchildren Dallas Marie Morrow and spouse Travis Stuart Brogden of Dudley, North Carolina. Austin Cole Brock and Kaylee Gann of Cherryville, North Carolina, Jacob and Julia Edwards of Salt Lake City, Utah. Hunter Bradley and Finley Grace Brock, of Piney Flats, Tennessee.
Great-great-grandchildren Madisyn Morrow, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, Adalynn Brogden of Dudley, North Carolina, and Mavrick Tate Brock, of Cherryville, North Carolina, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
At this time there is no formal service planned; however, a celebration of life is being planned at a later date.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the care staff at Gentiva Hospice, and request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Gentiva Hospice.
