GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Wayne STEM Academy is celebrating exceptional academic achievement after its kindergarten scholars posted standout results on the Winter 2025 NWEA MAP Assessment.
According to school officials, kindergarten students scored in the 81st percentile nationally in Mathematics, classified as High Achievement, and in the 70th percentile in Reading, categorized as High Average Achievement. The scores place Wayne STEM Academy students well above national benchmarks compared with peers across the country.
School leaders say the results reflect the academy’s focused approach to instruction and its rigorous academic model designed to support individual student growth.
Wayne STEM Academy is the first tuition-free, STEM-focused public charter school in Wayne County. The school emphasizes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while fostering curiosity and critical thinking skills in its scholars.
Enrollment for the 2026-27 school year is now open. Families interested in applying are encouraged to do so before the April 2, 2026 lottery deadline.
