February 3, 2026, 79, Dudley – Marjorie Marie Aldridge Mitchell, age 79, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 3, 2026 at Kitty Askins Hospice Care. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Bryant Aldridge and Marjorie Christine Newsome Aldridge. She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Mitchell’s life will be held by the graveside at the Mitchell Family Cemetery on Mitchell Road on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse F. Mitchell; a daughter, Ann Mitchell; two sons, Jesse Linwood Mitchell and his wife, Karen, and Gerald Mitchell; two sisters, Louvenia Mitchell and Carolyn Ann Aldridge; a brother, William Aldridge and his wife, Cheryl; two grandsons, Gerald Mitchell, Jr. and Wyatt Mitchell; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center for their love and care of Marjorie.
