January 27, 2026, 57, Fremont – Ted Leroy Koger Jr., 57, of Fremont departed this walk of life Tuesday morning, January 27, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, February 6, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. until 6:50 p.m. at Harvest Fellowship Church, 126 W. Walnut Street in Goldsboro with the celebration of life service beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Ted was born in Wayne County on September 26, 1968. Ted has built a life rooted in service, learning, and long-term commitment. He attended Harvest Fellowship Church and was a member of the Home Lodge No. 613 A.F. & A.M. in Fremont, reflecting his dedication to community and shared values. Professionally, he has contributed to education as a past teacher at Wayne Community College, bringing knowledge and mentorship to diverse learners. For more than a decade, he has continued to apply his experience and reliability in his current role with Ryerson, demonstrating consistency, adaptability, and a strong work ethic across every chapter of his journey.
He is survived by his his loving wife, Brenda L. Koger; his mother, Kathleen Rackley and husband, Ed of Saulston; two sons, Matthew Ted Koger of Hickory and Samuel Ted Koger of the home; one daughter, Kristen R. Trexler and husband, Thomas of Hickory; one brother, Kevin Troy Koger and wife, Angela of Lucama; one grandchild, Rhea Elise Trexler and his father-in-law, Junior Lee of Goldsboro. Ted also is survived by his beloved dachshunds.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Leroy Koger Sr.
