January 21, 2026, 80, Goldsboro – Rachel Johnson, 80, of Goldsboro went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.
Mrs. Johnson served as a substitute teacher with Wayne County Public Schools for over 30 years. While her health permitted, she attended Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Chapel.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Johnson of Goldsboro and Nicolle Robbins and husband, Brandon of Goldsboro; one grandchild, Candice Johnson; her nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William I. Boney and Tamer Hubbard Boney; her loving husband, Retired Senior Master Sergeant Joseph Bennett Johnson and her siblings.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 4 until 6 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
