January 22, 2026, 90, Goldsboro – Marjorie Grant, 90, of Goldsboro departed this earthly life with her family by her side on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Kitty Askins HospiceCenter in Goldsboro.
A time of visitation will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. At her request, a graveside service will be held in the springtime on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Flatfield Cemetery in LaGrange where she will be laid to rest by her husband of 67 years, Shorty “Wilbur” Grant.
Mrs. Grant was born in Durham County on March 16, 1935 to the late Willie and Verna Hill Grant. Having a love for flowers and making floral arrangements, she was employed with Rose’s Florist in Goldsboro for over 25 years.
She is survived by three sons, Donnie, Rickey, and Randy Grant; three daughters, Billie Jo Grant, Gail Long and Lisa Hardison and husband, Danny; two brothers, Ronnie Grant and wife, Rose and David Grant; one sister, Shelby Batzdorfer; one sister-in-law, Linda Grant; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shorty “Wilbur” Grant; one son, Danny Grant; one brother, Gerald Grant; her daughter-in-law, JoAnn Rose Grant and her son-in-law, Roger Long.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
