WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — The Buzz Around Wayne County, the area’s free monthly newspaper, has announced new ownership under longtime media professional Averil Williams, founder of AUTH Media Group, a media company rooted in authenticity and authority.
Williams succeeds founding publisher Dan Wroblewski, whose vision and dedication helped establish The Buzz as a trusted voice across Wayne County. Wroblewski’s commitment to credible, community-centered journalism will remain a cornerstone of the publication’s mission moving forward.
With nearly 30 years of experience in the media industry, Williams brings a strong background in both broadcasting and leadership. His career includes serving as an on-air radio personality and program director with Curtis Media Group. Through AUTH Media Group, Williams has continued to focus on building media platforms grounded in trust, integrity, and meaningful community engagement.
Williams said relationship-building will be a key priority as he leads The Buzz, with a particular emphasis on supporting small businesses, churches, and organizations that positively impact Wayne County.
“I am incredibly proud and humbled to continue the legacy Dan created with The Buzz,” Williams said. “Through AUTH Media Group and The Buzz, my focus is on authenticity, authority, and strengthening the relationships that make Wayne County thrive.”
Under Williams’ leadership, The Buzz Around Wayne County will continue its role spotlighting local news, events, businesses, faith communities, and organizations making a difference throughout the county.
Readers can look forward to the March 2026 edition of The Buzz, which will be released on February 26.
