WAYNE COUNTY — Wayne County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 27, due to concerns about road conditions across the county.
District officials cited continued wet roadways in the northern part of the county, combined with below-freezing overnight temperatures, which could create slick and hazardous conditions for school buses during the early morning hours.
The two-hour delay will allow additional time for conditions to improve and for bus drivers to begin their routes after daylight. All students and staff are expected to report two hours later than their normal start times.
School officials encourage families to use caution when traveling Tuesday morning and to stay alert for any additional updates from the district.
