WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — A Rosewood man was arrested following the execution of a search warrant that led to the recovery of stolen motor vehicles, suspected narcotics, and multiple firearms, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
On January 14, 2026, detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at a residence along Ebenezer Church Road. During the search, investigators located and recovered several stolen vehicles, along with suspected illegal drugs and multiple firearms.
As a result, Jonathan Lee Wiggs, 44, of Ebenezer Church Road, was taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses. Wiggs faces five counts of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of Methamphetamine, and several additional misdemeanor charges related to drugs and stolen property.
Wiggs was placed under an $85,000 secured bond.
The Criminal Investigations Division was assisted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division, Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement, and the Wayne County ABC Board.
