January 20, 2026, 94, Goldsboro – Lois Marie Basden Barwick, age 94, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Wayne County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William J. Basden and Sudie Marie Anderson Basden. Lois was the wife of the late James Harvey Barwick and was a retired bookkeeper with Wayne Realty and Insurance.
Lois is survived by her son, James Harvey Barwick, Jr (Alesia); her daughter, Catherine Marie Barwick Redmon (Emmett); her grandchildren, Michael Shannon Henderson, Ian Phillip Redmon, James Benjamin Barwick and Katherine Grimes Bradshaw; her great grandchildren, Brian Henderson and Caroline Henderson.
Along with her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Bess Barwick Grimes and her grandson, Jesse Dylan Barwick.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 23, 2026, 1:00 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Michael Sykes officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
