Mount Olive, NC — A cherished North Carolina tradition is setting sail.
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the North Carolina Pickle Festival, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the Mt. Olive Pickle Company, Mallory Dumond, travel advisor with Travelmation, has announced a special Pickle Cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Utopia of the Seas—and the response has been nothing short of remarkable.
Within less than 48 hours of the cruise’s activation, more than 30% of available staterooms were sold, signaling strong demand from pickle enthusiasts, festival fans, and cruise lovers eager to be part of this once-in-a-century celebration.
“This is a chance for pickle lovers to unite and enjoy an amazing cruise experience, punctuated with pickle-themed activities designed just for them,” said Lynn Williams, Public Relations for the Mt. Olive Pickle Company. “How dill-lightful!”
The Pickle Cruise blends North Carolina pride with a world-class cruise experience aboard Royal Caribbean’s newest Oasis-class ship. Guests will enjoy themed group events, festive pickle-inspired activities, and all the dining, entertainment, and amenities that make Utopia of the Seas one of the most anticipated ships in the industry.
Community leaders also see the cruise as a natural extension of Mount Olive’s pickle legacy.
“The Pickle Cruise is a Big Dill!” said Julie Beck, President of the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited to offer this unique cruise for pickle lovers. We know that they will relish their experience!”
For four decades, the North Carolina Pickle Festival has drawn tens of thousands of visitors to Mount Olive each year, celebrating the town’s deep-rooted pickle heritage. Pairing the festival’s 40-year milestone with Mt. Olive Pickle Company’s centennial anniversary creates a rare and memorable travel experience that resonates far beyond the state.
“This cruise is about more than travel—it’s about celebrating history, community, and a brand that has become iconic,” said Mallory. “With demand moving this quickly, we anticipate a full sell-out.”
