January 5, 2026, 88, LaGrange – Janet Wall Brown, 88, received her heavenly reward on Monday, January 5, 2026. Born in Johnston County on March 25, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Wall and Anna Belle Rhodes Wall.
Janet’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was deeply devoted to her church family at White Oak Grove Church. She was actively involved in the life of the church, faithfully attending services and supporting church activities whenever she could. Janet found great joy in serving the Lord and living out her faith through kindness, dedication, and a servant’s heart. Her church was more than a place of worship—it was a source of fellowship, purpose, and strength. Janet treasured the relationships she built there and took comfort in being surrounded by fellow believers who shared her love for God. Whether through her presence, her willingness to help, or her steadfast faith, Janet was a valued and beloved member of the White Oak Grove Church community.
Janet was a dedicated educator for 33 years, answering her calling as a teacher with patience, commitment, and genuine care for her students. She loved teaching and took great pride in watching her students learn and grow, often forming lasting connections that extended beyond the classroom. Teaching was more than a career for Janet—it was a ministry, and she poured her heart into every child she taught.
After retiring from education, Janet continued to stay active and purposeful, going on to work with Cardinal Chemicals. Even in this next chapter of her life, she was known for her strong work ethic, honesty, and willingness to give her best in all she did.
True to who she was, you never had to wonder where you stood with Janet—she would tell it like it was. Her honesty, strength, and straightforward nature were matched by a loving heart and genuine care for others, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Janet is survived by her sons, Julian Brown and wife, Amy, and Larry Brown and wife, Melony; her grandsons, Matthew Brown and wife, Jessica, and Christopher Brown and wife, Makayla; her great-grandchildren, James Brown, Anna Joy Brown and Kaylee Hope Brown; her sister, Jackie Jones and husband, Jimmy; and several nieces and nephews.
