GOLDSBORO, NC – Goldsboro City Council officially swore in Beverly Weeks as Mayor Pro Tem during Monday’s council meeting, marking the start of her new term in city leadership.
The oath of office was administered by Representative John Bell, who thanked council members and the mayor for their service and praised the city’s work on behalf of Wayne County and Goldsboro residents.
Weeks was joined by family and friends as she raised her right hand and placed her left hand on the Bible to take the oath. She pledged to support the Constitution and laws of the United States, uphold the Constitution and laws of North Carolina, and faithfully discharge the duties of her office as Mayor Pro Tem.
Following the oath, Representative Bell congratulated Weeks, officially confirming her role as Mayor Pro Tem. City leaders expressed appreciation for her continued service and looked ahead to working together in the new year.
