Goldsboro, N.C. — Goldsboro police are asking for the public’s assistance as they continue to investigate a deadly shooting that occurred outside a local nightclub in July.
Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a report of a shooting around 3:10 a.m. on July 13, 2025, at Summer Nights, located in the 2200 block of East Ash Street. When officers arrived, they found Derrick Antonia Maye in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Maye, a 40-year-old Goldsboro resident, was transported to UNC Health Wayne, where he later died from his injuries.
The department’s Investigative Services Bureau is continuing to work the case and is urging anyone with information related to the shooting or Maye’s death to come forward.
