December 30, 2025, 10 days, Goldsboro – Henry Ellis Cotton was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, while being lovingly cared for at UNC–Chapel Hill. Born on December 20, 2025, in Orange County, Henry was the cherished son of Hunter and Haley Cotton.
Though his time on earth was brief, Henry’s life made a profound and lasting impact on all who knew and loved him. From the moment he was born, Henry showed his spirited personality—so wiggly and full of life that the nurses affectionately described him as “feisty.” As a precious preemie, Henry displayed a remarkable strength and will to live, touching countless hearts through his courage and resilience. While his parents held him close, they now find comfort in knowing that Henry is forever held in the loving arms of Jesus.
A service to celebrate Henry’s life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
In addition to his parents, Henry will be lovingly remembered by his grandparents, Chris and Jillneal Cotton and Wendy and Jonathan Martin; his aunt, Haley Cotton; and his great-grandparents, Bill and Joyce Cotton, Ellis Hardison, Donna and Carlton Howell, and Terry Moye.
Henry was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Peggy and William Martin and Kathy Hardison.
