December 27, 2025, 95, Goldsboro – William Everett “Ebb” Wise, age 95, passed away Saturday evening, December 27, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Wayne County, NC, he was the son of the late William David and Nora Bertha Edwards Wise. Ebb was the husband of the late Gladys Vivian Guy Wise. Ebb was a member of Friendly Holiness PFWB Church since he was 13 years old as his parents were founding members of the church. He served as a former deacon and superintendent. Ebb will always be remembered for playing the harmonica at the church for more than 30 years. He was also a retired carpenter with Godwin Realty.
Ebb is survived by his daughter, Gail Johnson (Steve); his sons, Jarvis Wise (Angie), Ronald Wise, and Ernest Wise (Lynn); 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Friendly Holiness PFWB Church with Rev. Andy Westbrook officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday in the Family Life Center at the church. A private burial will be held at the Wise Family Cemetery.
Along with his parents and wife, Ebb was preceded in death by his son, Elton “Red” Wise, his grandson, Matthew Johnson, 4 brothers and 7 sisters.
