PIKEVILLE, NC— Wayne Country Day capped off a strong tournament run with a championship victory on the final day of the 2025 Greater Neuse FCA Winter Classic, earning a repeat title with a 73–51 win over Eastern Wayne on Tuesday night at C.B. Aycock High School.
The championship game highlighted Wayne Country Day’s depth and consistency throughout the tournament, as the Chargers pulled away from Eastern Wayne to secure back-to-back Winter Classic crowns.
Final-day action opened with the seventh-place game, where Southern Wayne defeated Spring Creek 77–50. In the fifth-place game, James Kenan earned a 65–39 win over North Duplin. Wayne Prep claimed third place with a 67–59 victory over Princeton, setting the stage for the championship finale.
The three-day tournament featured eight area programs competing in placement games and the title matchup, drawing strong crowds and showcasing postseason-level intensity.
Following the conclusion of play, tournament officials announced the 2025 Greater Neuse FCA Winter Classic All-Tournament Team.
