December 7, 2025, 48, Goldsboro — Jamie Ray Herritt, age 48, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at his home after a long history of heart issues. Born in Wayne County, NC, he was the son of the late Melvin Ray Herritt and Brenda Turnage Herritt. He earned his master’s degree in accounting at East Carolina University and was a self-employed entrepreneur.

Jamie is survived by his wife & soulmate, Erin S. Herritt; his son, Jackson Herritt; his daughters, Mikayla Olejar, Kaitlyn Olejar, and Kayley Olejar; his sister, Lisa H. Stanley (Bob); his nieces, Jenna Stanley and Hallie Stanley.

A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Erin would like to thank everyone who has stuck by her side during this difficult time, especially Emily Houston who was there at the worst time of Erin’s life. Everyone’s thoughts, prayers and love have been greatly appreciated.

Jamie is now with his mama and daddy, free of pain, free of heart concerns. Jamie is now whole again.
