December 8, 2025, 80, Franklinton — Bobby Arnold Hicks, age 80, passed in the early hours of Monday, December 8, 2025, at Goldsboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Walter Peter Hicks and Luna Graham Stegall Hicks, husband of the late Frances Crews Hicks and brother of the late Peggy, Nina, Graham, Peter and Janet Faye. Bobby was a member of the Mount Olivet Church in Franklinton, NC.
A service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held Monday, December 15, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Mount Olivet Church in Franklinton, NC burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Pastor Carl Hunter. officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm at the church.
Bobby is survived by his children, Kevin Hicks, Bobbie Kay Hicks Overby, Bridget (Chris) Hicks Evans, and Tonya Hicks Thompson; his brother, Herman Hicks; his sister, Jewel Hicks; grandchildren, Cody, Trey, Chloe, Katlyn, Sharon, Kristen, Brandi & Hunter, Shiyane, Jessica, Craig and Angel; and his great grandchildren, Marquim, Damian, Zaria, Wrenlee, Colton, Dakota, Brielle, Blake, Ryhker, Taytum and Brayden; and his beloved fur baby “Theodore” and bird, “Pete”; he was loved by many nieces and nephews with a special appreciation for Michelle Hicks Evans and husband, John and Michael and his wife, Julie. The family is also thankful for Bobby’s neighbor George and family, Cindy and Bret.
He worked at K@R Sportswear for 35 years and retired from Food Lion Distribution after 17 years of dedicated work at age 65. Bobby enjoyed playing and writing music as well as singing for his family & friends and going fishing. He loved the Lord and talked to him all the time. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and all he was surrounded by. Bobby would do anything to make someone laugh. He will be truly missed by so many.
