December 13, 2025, 80, Goldsboro — Benjamin Harris Nicely, 80, passed away Saturday, December 13, at Wayne UNC Healthcare in Goldsboro. 

Ben is survived by his wife of 53 years; Linda Lawhorn Nicely; children, Scott Nicely and his wife, Kristy of Lucama, their children; Kayla, Madison, and Skyler; a daughter, Christina M. Tingen and her husband, Chris, of Colonial Beach, VA, their children; Jonathan, Brittany, and Brandon; his son, Richard Kite of Mississippi, his children; Misty and Joshua; a son, Loren Beck and his wife, Julie, of Arkansas, and their children; and a daughter, Kathy B. Byers and her husband, Jody, of Covington, GA; and their daughter, Hannah.

Ben is also survived by a brother, Phillip Nicely and his wife, Bonnie, of Virginia; his sisters, Beulah N. Teaford, Carol Sharp and her husband Elmer, and Luana Sharp and her husband Larry, all of Virginia; and two sisters-in-law, Daisy Nicely, and Henrietta Nicely.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents; Harry Adam and Laura Elsie Nicely; siblings, James “Buck” Nicely and his wife Ann, Mable Aldridge and her husband James, Norman Nicely and his wife Glenda, Larry Nicely, and Dwight Nicely.

Ben loved his wife dearly, along with his beloved grandchildren. He was a Master Tool and Die maker for over 50 years, and worked with Modern Plastics. He and his wife attended and loved worshiping their Lord at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, where his memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, at eleven o’clock in the morning. Pastor Christian Powell along with Pastor Walter Sloan will officiate the service. The family will receive friends immediately following at the church.
