Wayne County, N.C. — Wayne County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, December 9, due to concerns about below-freezing temperatures and standing water creating hazardous icy conditions on secondary roads in the morning.
According to the district, all non-essential employees should report to work two hours after their normal start time. The school day at each campus will also begin two hours later than usual.
School officials encourage families and staff to continue monitoring local news outlets, the district’s Facebook page (@WayneCountyPS), and the school system’s website for any additional weather-related updates.
