UMO’s Christmas by Spotlight Set for December 5–6

MOUNT OLIVE The University of Mount Olive invites the community to kick off the holiday season at its highly anticipated Christmas by Spotlight event on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6. Designed to capture the true meaning of Christmas in a spirited and lively show, the production blends timeless classics with modern holiday favorites.

“This year’s show will be bigger and brighter than ever,” said Director Holly Rector. “We’re bringing together all of UMO’s vocal and instrumental performing groups, including Carolina Sound, our premier a cappella ensemble. The program will also feature guest choirs from area high schools, churches, and community groups, making it a truly collaborative celebration of the season.”

Showtimes are scheduled for 7 PM on both Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, in the Hazel Waters Kornegay Assembly Hall, located at 207 Wooten Street in Mount Olive.

Tickets are $12 for adults and free for UMO students and individuals 18 and under. Tickets can be purchased online at https://umo.edu/cbs-2025. Rector encouraged early reservations, noting that last year’s performances played to near-capacity crowds.

“If you’re looking for an evening filled with joyful music, stunning costumes, and colorful special effects, I hope you’ll join us,” Rector said. “It will be an unforgettable holiday tradition and a wonderful way to welcome the Christmas season.”
