GOLDSBORO, NC – North Carolina Representative John Bell filed for re-election on Tuesday, Dec. 2, seeking another term representing House District 10, which includes northern and central Wayne County.
Throughout his service, Rep. Bell has been a consistent and effective advocate for the region—helping secure millions in state funding for Wayne County schools, colleges, fire departments, economic development projects, and critical water and sewer infrastructure upgrades. He has also been a leading voice for the state’s agriculture, military, and rural communities.
“I’m excited to file for re-election to continue serving and fighting for the people of Wayne County,” said Rep. Bell. “Representing our community has been a tremendous honor, and I’m committed to earning their support once again and delivering strong leadership for our region and our state.”
Rep. Bell is currently serving his seventh term in the state House. He previously served as House Majority Leader from 2016 to 2025, the longest tenure in state history.
In 2025, Speaker Destin Hall appointed him Chairman of the influential Committee on Rules, Calendar, and Operations of the House, where he oversees bill assignments, floor scheduling, and the day-to-day operations of the chamber.
