James “Jimmy” Thomas Rowe, II

James “Jimmy” Thomas Rowe, II, 62, slipped away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Wayne UNC Health Care with his wife and children by his side. Born in Wayne County on February 9, 1963, he was son to the late James Thomas Rowe and Glendora Wall Rowe.

Jimmy held a profound love for his family, finding his greatest fulfillment in the time he spent with them. Jimmy was extremely proud of his children, Abigail and Tyler. A dedicated member of The First Church, he faced many health challenges throughout his life and fought with unwavering determination. He was a man of great strength, both in spirit and in character, and lived his life with quiet faith and devotion.

He was an enthusiastic and lifelong sports fan, taking particular delight in football and following the game with keen interest. His passion for NASCAR was unmatched; he rarely missed a race and took great pleasure in keeping up with his favorite drivers and teams. His love for sports brought him joy, connection, and countless cherished moments through the years.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Karen Moore Rowe; his children, Tyler James Rowe and wife, Brianna, and Abigail Mae Rowe; his grandchildren, Kaysleigh Rowe and Jaxon Rowe; his sister, Rebecca Sasser and husband, Mike; and his nephew, Riley Sasser and wife, Deja.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at The First Church in Goldsboro. A service to honor Jimmy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Bill Rose officiating.

The family is in the care of Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
