Glenn Ellison “Buck” Anderson, age 73, of Goldsboro, passed away on Wednesday morning, November 19, 2025, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

Buck was born in Wayne County to the late William “Billy” Anderson and Mitty Strickland Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph, Charles, and Thomas.

Buck dedicated over 40 years of service as a volunteer firefighter with the Grantham Fire Department. Buck was deeply committed to his community, which he demonstrated by his long-standing membership in the Wayne County Fireman’s Association and his attendance at Black Jack Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

Buck is survived by his beloved wife, Tina Anderson; two sons, Daniel (Cecilia) Anderson and Jeremy Anderson; and one stepson Brandon (Bobbie) Corey. He leaves behind eight grandchildren: Kolby (Haley) Anderson, William Anderson, Walker Anderson, Avery Carlyle, Michael Corey, Braden Corey, Helen Corey, and Hunter Tripp. He also had three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Roman and Destinee. He is also survived by his brothers, Bobby Anderson and Clarence Anderson.

A service to celebrate Buck’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home in Goldsboro with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones from 4:30 to 6:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to the Grantham Fire Department Retirement Fund, in honor of his decades of service.
