Virgil L. Amberson of Aycock Church Road passed away peacefully on Friday morning at home.
A native of Mobile, Alabama. Mr. Amberson was a retired United States Navy veteran and attended St. Nelson Baptist Church in Eureka and was a member of Tar River Branch #204 of the Flat Reverse.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Caridad B. Amberson, parents; Ruby Pravite Amberson and Frank Virgil Amberson, son; Jerome Amberson, brothers; David Amberson of Jacksonville, FL, Kenny Amberson of Tampa, FL and sister, Barbara A. Kirkpatrick of Dudley.

Surviving is a son Glenn Amberson of Tacoma, WA, daughters-in-law Pannee Amberson of Fremont and Karen Amberson of SC, grandchildren; Jeremy Amberson, Ashley Seas and Kelly Permpoon both of California, Glenn Amberson and AJ Amberson both of SC. Sisters; Linda A Walker, Kathy Amberson and Debbie A Brown all of Charlotte, NC.
