Goldsboro, NC – Due to the Federal Reserve’s discontinuation of the penny, the City has announced an update to its cash payment policy. Effective immediately, all cash payments made at City Hall in the Revenue Collections Department will require exact change.

If exact change is not provided, cash totals will be rounded up to the nearest nickel.

City officials say the change is necessary to comply with federal currency adjustments and to help streamline in-person payment processing.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead when making cash payments at City Hall.
