Ricky Dupree

Ricky Dupree

October 26, 2025, 73, Goldsboro —

Ernest Richard Dupree, Jr., known as Ricky Dupree, of the Outlaw’s Bridge community, Albertson, died Sunday evening, October 26, 2025, at his home.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Julia Sutton Dupree, and his two sons, Anthony Scott Dupree of the home, and Alan Dixon Dupree of Albertson.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Buck and Lena Dupree, and his brother, Kenneth Royal Dupree.

Ricky enjoyed farming, tending his multiple gardens, and the family farm.  Forever a giver, he was always willing to share his vegetables with his friends and family.  Though Ricky loved farming, his true calling was hunting and trapping.  Ricky worked in beaver management for Georgia-Pacific Corporation for more than a decade, often comparing the peace and tranquility he found in the swamp to heaven. An expert beaver trapper, Ricky’s services were sought after by many local farmers and friends.

Ricky’s family have remembered him and honored him privately, just as he had asked them to do.

Special thanks to his friend and brother-in-law, Eddie Sutton, who has helped the family for the last three months.
