Mary Elizabeth Byrd, 80, of Goldsboro went to her heavenly home Friday, October 17, 2025 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Smithfield.

Services will be held in Kentucky.

Mrs. Byrd was born in Kehoe, Kentucky on April 8, 1945 to the late Charlie and Merle Pack Kiser. She was a member of Oak Forest Church of Christ in Goldsboro.

She is survived by one son, Dale Allen Smith of Greenville, South Carolina; two daughters, Tina Everhart and husband, Donald of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Vonnie Smith of Seymour, Tennessee; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Byrd and twelve siblings.

Local arrangements are in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
