Larry Talmadge Aycock, 68, of Selma passed away on October 7th, 2025. Born and raised on Aycock Road in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Needham and Mattie Aycock.
Larry was a jack of all trades, but his true talent was carpentry. He spent 30 plus years building houses in and around Johnston County. He also had a green thumb and would grow vegetables for his family and neighbors. He enjoyed being outside in his yard and was an animal lover. He was a hard-working man who had a wonderful sense of humor. His quick wit and charm left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Even on his last day he was making jokes with the nurses.
Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Marie Aycock, sister, Barbara Pope (Tim), brother, James Aycock, children; Julie Ostrander (Kirby), Benji Aycock, Wendy Lomonaco (Jesse), grandchildren; Austin Hillis (Abby), Breanna Tribby (Wyatt), Luke Lomonaco, Levi Lomonaco, and Evan Aycock, great granddaughter; Caroline Tribby.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday October 11th, 2025 in the fellowship hall of Parrish Memorial Baptist Church (606 Parrish Memorial Road Selma NC 27569) at 1pm. The family expresses thanks for all the thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
