Crossroads Plaza to Host Inaugural Candy Crawl Halloween Event

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Crossroads Plaza will welcome costumed trick-or-treaters for its first-ever Candy Crawl on Halloween evening, offering families a safe alternative to traditional neighborhood trick-or-treating.

The community event, scheduled for Friday, October 31, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., is being organized by Play Date Academy of Goldsboro and will feature participating retailers throughout the shopping center distributing candy to children.

“We’re so excited to host this event in a familiar area where families already love to visit,” a Play Date Academy representative said. “It’s a great way to connect our community and local businesses while celebrating the Halloween spirit together.”

The Halloween celebration invites children to dress in costume and visit decorated storefronts at Crossroads Plaza, where local shop owners will hand out treats during the two-hour window. The event aims to provide a controlled environment for families seeking an alternative to residential trick-or-treating.

Organizers encourage attendees to bring candy buckets and arrive in their favorite Halloween costumes. Multiple businesses within the plaza are expected to participate in the festivities.

Several Crossroads Plaza retailers have confirmed their participation in the event, including Play Dates Academy, Once Upon a Child, From the Heart, Pet Supplies Plus, Michaels Arts & Crafts, Pho House, and Aarons, with additional businesses expected to join.

Parents and guardians can find additional information and event updates by following Play Date Academy of Goldsboro on Facebook and Instagram.

The Candy Crawl represents a growing trend of shopping centers hosting Halloween events to draw families and support local retailers while providing community-focused holiday celebrations. The event is free and open to the public.
