Donald Howard Wilson

 September 23, 2025, 76, Goldsboro —

Donald Howard “Donnie” Wilson, 76, was welcomed into the presence of his Lord on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at ECU Medical Center in Greenville.

Donnie was born in Johnston County on November 15, 1948, to the late George Howard Wilson and Lillian Dare Mitchell Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Bass.

For many years, Donnie worked alongside his father in the family plumbing business before later operating his own company. He eventually joined the Goldsboro Housing Authority, where he dedicated his time and talents until his retirement.

Outside of work, Donnie enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved talking on his CB radio, hunting, and attending tractor pulls. Above all, he cherished time spent with friends, especially the fellowship he shared with the neighborhood men at R.B. Crawford Store.

Donnie was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church. His greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family, who were truly the center of his life.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the fellowship hall of Pleasant Grove O.F.W.B. Church. A service to celebrate Donnie’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary, with Rev. Barry Stallings and Rev. Doug Seymour officiating. For those attending, the family kindly asks that you dress casually and wear bright colors in honor of Donnie’s vibrant spirit.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Martha “Janie” Wilson. The couple had just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on September 11th. He is also survived by his children, Ann Guevremont and husband, Barry; Tim Wilson and wife, April; and Victoria “Tori” Davis and husband, Jeremy; grandchildren, Bobby Fones, Jeremy Peacock, Austin Wilson, Hunter Davis, Noah Wilson, Skyler Davis, and Remington Davis; and ten great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Janice McCullen, Lynn Johnson, Larry Wilson, and Betty Peele.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be directed to Seymour Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
