Herbert “Booger” Glenn Green, 68, of Fremont passed away Saturday, September 06, 2025 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro.

Booger was born in Wayne County on August 21, 1957. He was retired from Green’s Auto Salvage after many dedicated years of service, in which the family still owns and operates today, and was currently employed with the Town of Eureka. Some of his favorite past times that he loved to do were fishing, arrowhead hunting, farming and watching NASCAR and wrestling.

He is survived by his mother, Ethel Barnes Green of Fremont; his children, Daren Green (Christina), Derek Green, Shannon Green and Stacey Green, all of Fremont and their mother, Regina Green of Fremont; his grandchildren, Makylni, Colton, Easton, Adalynn and Lakelynn Green, Sadie and Grayson Grimes and Austin Casey; his brother, Jerry Green (JoAnn) Fremont; four sisters, Pam Green, Teresa Hill and fiance, Gary Winstead, Debbie Lassiter (Jeff) and Della Howard (Richard), all of Fremont; several nephews and other relatives and friends.

Booger was preceded in death by his father, JuneBug Green and his brother-in-law, Randy Hill.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. The family will greet friends following the service. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
