Addison “Addy” Franklin Hine, age 19, passed away unexpectedly Friday at his home. Born in Albany, NY, he was the son of Matthew Robert Hine and Janine Sullivan. Addy attended the dual language program in Albany and was bilingual and biliterate. He started high school at Fonda-Fultonville High in New York. Addy graduated with honors from Southern Wayne High School. He started marching band as a fifth grader and continued through high school. Addison was very proud and honored to have marched with the Albany Marching Falcons for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy. In addition to marching with his clarinet, he also ran cross country and track through middle and high school. He was furthering his education at Johnston Community College pursuing a career as a diesel mechanic, a field he loved. Addy was employed with Speedco Truck, Lube and Tires in Kenly, NC.
A service to celebrate Addy’s life will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held immediately following the service at the funeral home. Please wear his favorite color, yellow, or his personal favorite attire, the white t-shirt as well as a trucker hat.
Along with his parents, Addy is survived by his brother, Egan Jay Hine; his sister, Maisie Anouk Sullivan; maternal grandparents, Ann Sullivan and Jon Weekly; paternal grandparents, Orville Jay and Anne Hine; Aunt, Larisa Sullivan & husband, Trey Villanueva; cousin, Beatrix; special cousin, Stephanie Oswald; many cousins, great aunts and uncles; special cats, “Fonda”, “Oliver” and “Artemisia”.
Addy was preceded in death by his uncle, Adam Hine.
