Tanya Jean Richards Nava, 59, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Born in Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Dick Richards and Peggy Murphy Richards.

Tanya is survived by her husband, Aldolfo Nava of Micro, NC; daughter, Melissa Richards and grandchildren, Jasper Richards and Leo Richards of the home; and sons, Aldolfo Hunter Nava and wife, Leslie of Knightdale, NC, and Jose Carlos Nava of the home.

Tanya spent her life creating a safe haven for her family, always putting their needs above her own. Whether it was preparing meals, planning the next family getaway, or offering a listening ear, Tanya’s presence was a constant source of love and strength.

One of her greatest joys was spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. Tanya’s home was always full of laughter and warmth.

Tanya had a love for adventure, particularly trips to the beach and the mountains, where she found peace and joy in nature’s beauty. She also had a fondness for the thrilling and mysterious, often spending her evenings watching her favorite true crime shows on Discovery ID and indulging in her love of scary movies.

Above all, Tanya’s deep love for her family was her greatest gift. She took care of everyone around her, always making sure that her family felt supported and loved no matter what. Her nurturing spirit, strong faith, and unwavering commitment to her loved ones will forever be remembered.

A private celebration of Tanya’s life will be arranged for close family and friends.
