Northern Wayne Library Offers Hands-On S.T.E.M. Workshop for Local Teens

FREMONT, NC – The Northern Wayne Library is set to host an innovative S.T.E.M. workshop designed specifically for teenagers, combining 3D modeling and laser printing technology in an engaging, hands-on learning experience.

The “S.T.E.M 3D Modeling & Laser Printing” program will take place on Saturday, August 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Northern Wayne Library, located at 609 S. Wilson Street in Fremont. The one-hour session is open to participants aged 12-18 and requires advance registration.

“This program offers teens the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technology while developing practical skills in digital design and manufacturing,” said a representative from Wayne County Public Library. The workshop promises to introduce participants to the fundamentals of 3D design, allowing them to create their own digital models and witness the transformation of their ideas into physical objects through laser cutting technology.

No prior experience is necessary to participate in the workshop, making it accessible to beginners and experienced students alike. The program emphasizes creativity and hands-on learning, encouraging teens to experiment with digital design concepts and modern manufacturing techniques.

The initiative represents the Wayne County Public Library’s commitment to providing educational opportunities that prepare young people for careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. By offering access to advanced technology and expert instruction, the library aims to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

Registration is required for the program and can be completed by calling 919-705-1892. Given the specialized nature of the equipment and instruction involved, space may be limited, and early registration is encouraged.

The Northern Wayne Library continues to serve as a community hub for educational programming, offering resources and opportunities that extend far beyond traditional library services. This S.T.E.M. workshop exemplifies the library’s dedication to fostering learning in emerging technologies and preparing local youth for future academic and career success.
